Board approves reevaluation that returns student to general education and signs off on retirements

A Staff member introduced a letter and the proposed plan, asking the board to allow the student to return under monitored conditions and to explore work‑study placement. A motion and second were made and the board approved the plan; staff said they will follow up with the student and family on packets and placement details.
The meeting also advanced routine personnel business: the board accepted professional resignations and retirements (including Judy Pitzer, PE/health teacher at TCHS, effective June 30, 2026; and the retirements of Sondra Roberts, executive secretary of the BOE, and Doris Bunnell, financial secretary of CCHS, both effective June 30, 2026). The board moved and seconded those recommendations and approved the personnel actions during the meeting.
Other employment items approved included Tanya Naiman as cook at TBEMS (effective Jan. 21, 2026) and a substitute bus operator recommendation for the 2025–26 school year; background checks and certifications were noted as pending prerequisites for new hires.
Next steps: staff will coordinate a work‑study placement, provide required paperwork to the student and family and complete background and certification checks for new employees.
