The Waterford Board of Selectmen voted to approve the sale of 207 Boston Post Road (also known as 1 Tiffany Avenue) to Lourdes Etienne Revere for $85,000 and authorized the first selectman to sign a quitclaim deed conveying the property from the town.
Nick (Speaker 4), who summarized the auction, said the property was re‑auctioned after an earlier notice minimum of $80,000 produced no eligible bids. "We had six bidders, and they began bidding at $20,000, but we got it up to $85,000," he said. The winning bidder delivered a $10,000 bank check; if the board-approved sale closes, the buyer has 30 days to provide the remaining $75,000.
The board discussed how the town will apply the proceeds. Staff explained advertising costs will be deducted from the $85,000 and the remaining balance will be split proportionally between taxes owed and utility liens. Chair (Speaker 1) said the process has been coordinated with the finance department and that the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) has already approved the auction process.
Board members asked staff to provide exact figures for past taxes and outstanding utility charges; staff said those numbers would be supplied to the board. The motion to approve the sale and authorize the first selectman to sign the deed was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The buyer’s deadline to complete the purchase is 30 days from final approval; the town will apply sale proceeds first to advertising and then proportionally to outstanding tax and utility balances.
