Council updates park and facility fees, approves annual boat-ramp pass
Summary

Attorney Dan Cox presented Ordinance 2026-02, which amends section 14-1 of the City Code to codify charges for Myron B. Hodge Park and other recreational facilities and to include an annual pass for the boat ramp. City Clerk Ashley Schilling presented a draft fee schedule that Councilman Lewis had prepared.
After discussion the council adopted the ordinance and approved specific fee adjustments: gym rental at $600 for weddings and large events (if ticketed, $600 plus 10% of sales) and $300 for all other events; Sopchoppy High School (SHS) auditorium rental at $800 per day and $150 for additional days, plus 10% of sales for ticketed events; recurring events to be considered case-by-case; waiving room fees for recovery groups; and lowering the corner room rate to $40 per day.
The ordinance was read by title only and adopted on a 4-0 vote. The council did not record additional conditions or a sunset; staff were expected to implement the new fee schedule and handle case-by-case recurring-event requests administratively.
The council moved on to other business after adopting the ordinance.
