The Sewall's Point commission voted unanimously on Nov. 12 to grant the town manager an additional 3% discretionary salary increase effective Oct. 1, to be applied in addition to the standard employee adjustment. Staff presented the annual performance appraisal results (an average score reported as 4.7 out of 5), and a commissioner moved that the manager receive a 3% discretionary increase at the commission's discretion; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call.
Commissioners praised the manager's performance and cited continuity and project management as reasons for retention. Staff confirmed the budget includes room for the increase; Mariah reported the budget had accounted for the 5% range and the commission instructed staff to proceed with the adjustment.
The vote was recorded by roll call with elected members voting in favor; staff said the increase would be implemented consistent with the manager's contract and town payroll processes.
