Trask moved to approve the city gaming license; Councilman Dennis Perea seconded the motion. The council voted to carry the motion; the clerk recorded that the motion carried unanimously.
Kelci S. Binau, attorney for William Hill with the law firm McDonald Corano, attended by video conference and thanked the council for convening the special meeting and accommodating William Hill’s licensing request.
The action was processed in a recess of the Ely Gaming Licensing Board and the regular council meeting was then reconvened to continue with the agenda. The council did not discuss conditions or operational details for the proposed sportsbook in the public record beyond staff confirmation that licensing prerequisites had been satisfied.
The council adjourned the meeting at 5:09 p.m.
