Ely, Nev. — The Ely City Council voted Feb. 12 to accept completion of the Morley Sewer Project (PWP# WP-2025-206), a water‑and‑sewer phase funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
City Clerk Jennifer Lee told the council that Reck Brothers completed the Morley Sewer work by the end of December. "There was one additional Change Order for $8,500.00 for four service lines which were un‑patchable; as this amount was less than 5% of total project cost, it was approved by Public Works Director Cracraft and City Treasurer Janette Trask per City protocol," Lee said.
Councilman Terrill Trask moved to accept the Morley Sewer Project; Councilwoman Melody Van Camp seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The meeting record shows the council accepted the project and documented the approved change order in the public minutes.
City staff noted Basin Engineering has the invitation for the Morley Water project ready to release as soon as the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) approves the project; staff anticipated NDEP approval by March 9. The minutes do not record additional budget figures for the project beyond the stated change order.
The acceptance formally closes the sewer phase of the PWP listed on the agenda; the water phase remains pending regulatory approval and bidding.
