The Manteno Village Board approved its consent agenda and separately tabled a proposed PSA for Main Street tree removal and replacement design.
On the consent agenda, the board approved an ordinance amendment to allow gaming at a golf‑simulator business on Spruce Street, continued an employee‑sharing agreement between the village and the Manteno Community Chamber of Commerce, and authorized payment of bills totaling $204,896.36. Trustee Boudreaux moved to approve the consent agenda and Trustee Geske seconded; a roll call vote recorded 'yes' votes and the motion carried.
Separately, the board considered a professional services agreement with HR Green to design and engineer tree removal and replacement work on Main Street. The proposal specified $17,500 for 19 trees. Trustees raised questions about per‑tree cost and whether the design could be broken into phases; Trustee Mike Berry and others asked staff to ask the engineer to provide phased options. Trustee Geske moved to table the PSA, Trustee Crockett seconded, and the motion to table passed by roll call.
The board scheduled follow‑up: staff will ask the engineering firm to provide phased or alternative bid options and return the item to the next meeting for further review. No change was made to the already authorized bills.
