Jeff Jones, of BDI, told the Council that Well 7 has been drilled and is currently pumping about 1,500 gallons per minute; he said a chemical analysis is expected this week. Jones reported the contractor agreed to expedite construction but the work has been delayed, moving the project completion date from March to May and now to July.
Public Works Director PWD Green confirmed BDI has been actively monitoring construction. Attorney Cox asked why other project components were not advanced once the schedule slipped and offered to write to the contractor asking for an explanation prior to the June 8 meeting. The Council requested that the contractor provide milestones and new dates for each project component before the next Council meeting; PWD Green and Jeff Jones will contact the contractor after today’s meeting.
No formal penalty or change order was recorded at this meeting; the Council directed staff to obtain a written timeline and explanations to be reviewed at the June 8 meeting.
