Councilmember Westmark seeks formal park host position; staff to return with proposal in June

Councilmember Westmark told the council at the May 11 meeting that he has reviewed a proposal from Public Works Director Seth Green to create a more formal park host or park-management position and asked that the council discuss the proposal at its June meeting.
Public Works Director Seth Green reported that trees at the City Park have been marked for limbing and that a back corner of the park will be cleared to add additional RV sites along the river. Green also said the city plans to use about 170 loads of dirt removed from the well 7 retention pond to improve and level a large field that is used for parking.
No formal action was taken on the park-host proposal at the May 11 meeting; Westmark said he wants the proposal on the June agenda for further discussion.
