Key actions at the meeting included approval of a 60-month lease for 102 copiers from Access Systems totaling $585,064.20 (about $9,751.07 per month), and a $23,600 billboard contract with Lamar Advertising. The board also approved a $27,000 digital advertising agreement with Amplified Digital to support recruitment and career-fair outreach.
Curriculum and assessment purchases the board approved included an estimated $127,500 for ELPA21 testing with Cambium Assessment, a $1,700 Imagine Learning purchase for 2026-27, $106,250 estimated for ISASP statewide assessments, K-6 FastBridge math resources from Renaissance for $8,571.75, and Art of Education University contracts totaling $181,811.88 across Flex curriculum and Pro professional-learning resources covering 2026'031.
On facilities and services the board approved a $26,500 design proposal from CMBA architects for North Middle School roof renovation, a $202,818 design/estimate for West High track repairs from Bacon Creek Design, a change order to replace plumbing piping in the West and North pool projects, and a transportation-services contract with the Siouxland Regional Transit System for the 2026-27 school year.
The board also approved a donation and transfer agreement to give a decommissioned school bus to the Sioux City Fire Department for training purposes and accepted preschool initiative partnership and rental agreements (the initiative vote passed 4-0 with one abstention). The board approved second and final readings of multiple policies and denied an open-enrollment request filed late and without good cause.
Board votes were recorded as presented during the meeting; when a board member abstained on the preschool initiative the clerk announced the motion passed 4-0 with one abstention. The meeting adjourned after the consent and action items were completed.
