Archdale Public Library reports program growth, plans five-year strategic plan

Ashley Rose, branch manager of the Archdale Public Library, briefed City Council on the library’s year and outlined plans for continued growth.
Rose said the library saw increased participation in its Summer Reading Program and an overall expansion in program offerings. She highlighted the expanded 'Read with Me' program that allows children to read alongside certified therapy animals — a dog, a bunny and a horse — and described the Community Navigator Program, which places social workers inside the library to connect residents to human services before more intensive interventions are needed.
Rose told council the library is preparing a five-year strategic plan slated to begin in summer 2026 to guide services, spaces and community engagement. Council thanked her for the presentation; no council action was taken on library matters at the meeting.
