Archdale Council backs regional water study, adopts supporting resolution

Greg Flory, executive director of the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority, presented the authority's "Meeting Future Water Needs" overview to the Archdale City Council on March 24, outlining PTRWA's history, current role and plans to serve Randolph and Guilford counties. The presentation framed regionalization as a pathway for coordinated water and wastewater service as growth continues in the triad region.

After the presentation Mayor Lewis Dorsett read a resolution expressing the City's support for the PTRWA Water and Wastewater Utility Regionalization Study. Councilman Roger Blackwell moved to adopt the resolution; Councilman John Glass seconded the motion, and the Council approved it unanimously. Mayor Dorsett presided over the vote; all members present voted yes and Member Trey Gray was absent.

The resolution commits Archdale to work toward a regional water and wastewater solution in partnership with PTRWA and neighboring jurisdictions.
