Archdale City Council unanimously approved its meeting agenda and consent agenda at a Feb. 24, 2026 session, adopting minutes, a financial summary, and a security agreement with the Randolph County Board of Education.
Mayor Pro Tem Kelly Grooms moved to approve the agenda and later moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilman Roger Blackwell seconded both motions and both passed by unanimous vote of the seven members present: Mayor Lewis Dorsett, Mayor Pro Tem Kelly Grooms, and Council members Herb Andrews, Roger Blackwell, John Glass, Trey Gray and William Wood.
The consent agenda included approval of minutes from Jan. 27 and Feb. 12, the financial summary report, and the Randolph County Board of Education Security Agreement. The council did not discuss substantive changes to those items during the meeting and the motions were adopted as presented.
Item 10 on the agenda authorized the council to enter closed session under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(5) to receive instructions on negotiating positions related to real property acquisition; the council later returned to open session and Mayor Dorsett reported that no action was taken in closed session. The meeting concluded with an announcement about a regional water study and a unanimous vote to adjourn.
The council previewed a forthcoming budget amendment related to a reduced scope at the Bonnie Place electrical pedestals project and will consider that adjustment in a future meeting.
