Archdale awards $546,472.34 street-resurfacing contract to Sharpe Brothers

Stormwater Manager D.J. Señeres presented results from the annual resurfacing procurement and reported that the City received four bids. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Sharpe Brothers in the amount of $546,472.34.
Councilman Roger Blackwell moved to approve the Sharpe Brothers quote. Councilman William Wood seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. City Manager Matthew Christian told Council that $412,000 of the cost will be covered by the Powell Bill and the remainder will be covered by the General Fund.
Public Works will supervise the resurfacing work and staff will follow standard procurement and contract-administration procedures. No contract award conditions or contingencies were recorded in the meeting minutes beyond standard permitting and oversight.
