- Policy amendments (agendas 9c–9f): Trustees approved second readings of multiple NMSBA policy amendments updating leave and vacation language to reflect 'undifferentiated' leave (policies referenced in the packet: g-29, g-3100, g-3200, g-5361). Motions carried as presented.
During approval of the monthly finance report, trustees discussed encumbrances and asked questions about overtime. Administration provided a breakdown of overtime for 2024–25, with transportation showing the largest amount at $216,919; custodial ($47,479), security ($57,874) and maintenance ($9,089) were also listed. Trustees requested follow-up on whether overtime levels suggest hiring additional FTEs versus continued reliance on overtime.
Outcomes were recorded as affirmative for the motions noted above; where the packet lacked a fully executed MOU, the board authorized legal review and administrative signature authority contingent on counsel's approval.
