Questa council approves three residential variances, accepts NV5 contract; tables airport-engineer and hydrogen resolution

At its Oct. 8 meeting, the Village of Questa Council unanimously approved three property variances and accepted a construction-management contract for Cabresto Phase II and III. The council tabled recommendations on an on-call airport engineering contract and a resolution supporting a Green Hydrogen project.
The Village of Questa Council approved three residential variances and authorized a construction-management contract while tabling two items at its Oct. 8 regular meeting.
In separate votes the council approved variance requests for Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hillock (64 S. Kiowa Rd) and for Abe and Reena Garcia (properties on NM State Hwy 522, listed as 2355A, and at 10 Camino Martinez). Each variance motion passed unanimously with four council members voting YES: Councilor Jason Gonzalez; Councilwoman Louise Gallegos; Councilwoman Katrina Gonzales; and Councilor Brent Jaramillo. The motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting minutes.
The council also accepted a staff recommendation for construction management services for culverts and drainage (Cabresto Phase II and III) with NV5. The motion to approve NV5’s contract recommendation passed unanimously.
Two agenda items were tabled for future consideration. The council voted to table the contract/contractor recommendation for RFP 2024-01 (Village of Questa on-call airport engineer). Council members also voted to table Resolution 2024-23, a proposed statement of support for a Green Hydrogen Project. Both tabling motions carried by unanimous roll call votes of council members present.
