Bigfork School District trustees approved the district’s 2024–25 budgets and accepted the 2023–24 Trustee’s Financial Reports at their Aug. 20 meeting.
Business Manager Lacey Porrovecchio reviewed district taxable values, taxes receivable and protested taxes, final budget recommendations and ending cash balances. Porrovecchio told trustees the levied taxes remain steady for both the elementary and high school budgets and described how ending cash in budgeted funds will be apportioned to reserves or used for the ensuing year’s budgets.
Trustee Julie Kreiman moved to approve the Elementary 2024–25 Budgets; Trustee Ben Woods seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote of the elementary trustees. Trustees then approved the High School 2024–25 Budgets by unanimous vote of the full board. The board also approved the Elementary and High School 2023–24 Trustee’s Reports and carried motions to apportion ending cash balances as presented.
The approvals followed a brief presentation of the financial reports; no additional budget amendments were proposed at the meeting. The board will next meet Sept. 11, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the high school library for regularly scheduled business.
