Auditor Kaydee Smith reported that the city used 540,500 gallons of water in September, with Pump 1 running about 20.2 hours and Pump 2 running about 17.3 hours. Kaydee Smith also said ND Pump & Lift serviced the pumps last month and installed a new winch at the lift station.
Citizen Patrick Samson told the council he submitted the city's application to the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) program and said there were no public comments on the CDBG advertisement. The council discussed equipment availability to support operations: maintenance staff reported RDO's backhoe had been inspected and repaired and would arrive Thursday; staff proposed buying a push snow plow for that backhoe to replace the red tractor's attachments.
On a motion moved by Kenneth Evenson and seconded by Tamara Rudland, the council approved buying a $7,000 push snow plow for the backhoe from RDO. Auditor Kaydee Smith said the city plans to sell the red tractor's snow pusher and blade attachment to offset the purchase cost; she will check with the League of Cities about whether the sale must be advertised for bid or may be publicly advertised.
