Following a closed session on security procedures, the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved an 11‑page contract with Next Generation Technologies (NGT) of Buffalo Center to provide countywide IT backup and support.
The contract includes a one‑time onboarding fee of $4,002.50 to document infrastructure and a monthly account management charge of $360 ($3.60 in transcript may reflect shorthand). The county explained the contract is intended as a backup to the existing provider so county IT services can be maintained if the primary contractor becomes unavailable. The board also authorized the county IT department to proceed with enhancements for security at county properties, including the sheriff’s office.
Motion by Supervisor Steve, second Isaac, to approve the NGT contract passed unanimously.
Next steps: county IT will onboard NGT, complete an inventory of infrastructure, and coordinate any cybersecurity follow‑up work with the sheriff’s office and other departments.
