Greenberg board opens public hearing on $6.5 million Hartsdale sewer improvements

The Town of Greenberg board on Wednesday opened a public hearing on proposed capital improvements to the Hartsdale Sewer District that the town estimates could cost up to $6,500,000.
The board said the plan and estimate were prepared by deputy town engineer Chris Gelardo and dated Aug. 1, 2025. The work described includes rehabilitation, repair, replacement and possible new sanitary sewer piping and manholes, and would be borne by the Hartsdale Sewer District through bonds repaid by assessments in the district.
Town staff told the board the project was classified as a Type II action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act, meaning it is not expected to have significant environmental effects. The plan and estimate are on file at the town clerk’s office for public inspection.
After the presentation the board closed the hearing for in-person comment and voted to leave the written record open for seven days to allow additional public input.
