Town staff asks board to move three public hearings to Oct. 8; taxation law under assessor review

Town staff asked the Greenburgh Town Board at its work session to hold over three public hearings to the board’s next meeting on Oct. 8, citing ongoing review and finalization of documents.
Town staff said the items to be delayed are a site-plan application for the Dalewood (Bricksmoor/Dalewood Shopping Center) matter, a proposed local law amending chapter 440 on taxation, and a proposed local law amending chapter 348 on filming. The staff representative told the board the taxation measure is in near-final form but the assessor is still reviewing it; staff said the filming law also will be finalized before the Oct. 8 meeting.
“Those three that town staff is asking to hold over are to amend [the] site plan application for Bricksmoor for Dalewood, to consider a local law amending chapter 440 taxation, and to consider a local law amending chapter 348 entitled filming,” the town staff representative said. The staff member added the assessor is reviewing the taxation draft and that redline changes can be circulated to the board before the hearing.
Two public hearings scheduled for this week will remain on the Sept. 24 agenda, staff said: hearings related to the increase and improvement of facilities for the sewer district and the consolidated water district. The town engineer’s office explained the sewer/water items require reapproval because property owners requested changes to easement terms, necessitating rescinding and reapproving prior resolutions.
Board members asked staff to note, where applicable, whether an applicant requested a delay; staff said one of the Dalewood items was held at Commissioner Duquesne’s request and that, if it was the applicant’s request, the agenda language should reflect that.
Board members also requested that staff circulate a redlined taxation draft showing differences from the earlier version so members can review any edits made since the last hearing.
The board did not take a formal vote on the holdovers during the work session; staff stated the items would appear on the Oct. 8 agenda.
