The Bloomfield School board on April 15 adopted policy 5505, approved FY26 contract offers for two staff members and voted to join the MSSA consortium for the next fiscal year.
During routine business, the board approved the minutes from March 18 after a motion by Natalie Mullet and a second from Chris Raisl. A first reading of policy 5505 was presented and, after a motion by Raisl and a second by Shawn Walker, the board adopted the policy.
The board approved a new job description for the district clerk on a motion by Chris Raisl, seconded by Natalie Mullet. The board also approved FY26 contract offers: $45,000 annually for teacher Katie McGinnis and $550 per month for Brittany (last name not specified). Shawn Walker moved the contract offers and Chris Raisl seconded; the minutes record that "all were in favor." The transcript does not provide Brittany's role or last name.
Chris Raisl moved and Natalie Mullet seconded a motion for the district to enter the MSSA consortium agreement for FY26; the board approved that motion unanimously. The board then approved April warrants on a motion by Raisl and a second by Walker.
Teacher Katie McGinnis reported on end-of-year scheduling: five instructional days remain, field trips will be May 5 and May 12, fishing day is May 8 and track and field day is May 14. McGinnis also said she expects two new students next year and that she may not return as a teacher; she will notify the board when she decides.
The board set its next regular meeting for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
