During the Jan. 21 meeting Mayor Russell Giulio presented a plaque to Michele St. George in recognition of her service as Ambulance Director; St. George's last day in that role was Dec. 31, 2024.
On personnel changes, Giulio said he would like to retain Mike Hecht as Fire Chief, appoint Leon Shupp as Assistant Chief and appoint Amanda Cochran as Captain. For ambulance services, Giulio appointed former Assistant Director Molly Carey to the Ambulance Director position and EMT Amanda Cochran to Assistant Director. Carey asked to meet with the mayor and Council President Drew Dawson to "get things organized" for the transition.
The minutes record these mayoral appointments and the plaque presentation; no formal roll-call votes on the fire appointments are recorded in the minutes, and the ambulance appointments were presented as mayoral actions. The council did not record additional motions or vote tallies associated with the mayor's personnel recommendations in the meeting minutes.
