Wilber-Clatonia board approves multiple contracts, personnel moves and policy updates

The Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools Board of Education on March 16 approved a slate of personnel contracts, policy updates and a facilities fee proposal, actions the board took by unanimous votes.
In the meeting’s consent agenda the board accepted the resignation of high school English teacher Emily Pruitt and approved hires including Jeff Ganz as middle/high school principal and CeCe Meister as high school English teacher. The consent motion, moved by Russ Schuerman and seconded by Barry Young, passed with all six members recorded voting "yea." The board’s minutes list the district’s General Fund balance at $703,473.84 and a Depreciation Fund balance of $41,235.33.
The board also reviewed and adopted updates to the district’s 4000-series personnel policies following input from Perry Law Firm. Bradley Kalkwarf moved to adopt the policies, Russ Schuerman seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
On facilities, the board accepted a fee proposal from CMBA Architects to produce construction documents for a concession stand and restroom at the football field; CMBA will prepare documents and the project will be put out for bid. Chris Woerner made the motion to accept the fee proposal and Laura Niles seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Other votes taken without recorded dissent included approval of the AD/AP contract, the elementary principal contract, the SPED director contract and the superintendent contract for 2026–27. Where recorded, every motion listed the mover and seconder in the minutes and was approved by all six board members: Bradley Kalkwarf, Laura Niles, Tim Riechers (president), Russ Schuerman (secretary), Chris Woerner and Barry Young.
The board scheduled a community hamburger feed for April 10 and listed administrative reports and upcoming events, including the NRCSA spring conference and five-year visit interviews set for March 26.
