Board hears accreditation results, hiring gains and Bridger Charter rebrand preview

Superintendent Casey Bertram (speaker 13) told trustees that under Montana Office of Public Instruction’s new accreditation standards the district’s schools received regular accreditation overall. He said the district took minor point deductions related to a small number of staff licensure records and some class‑size deviations but otherwise received full points on student performance measures.
Pat (staff referenced by the superintendent) and HR (speaker 15) updated trustees on hiring: the district hired 53 new teachers on paper (51 after two late losses) and filled 17 special‑education positions that had been vacant earlier in the hiring cycle. The presentation credited internal transfers, tuition-reimbursement programs (ABC-to-Teach) and targeted recruitment for many of the hires.
Administration also provided a facilities update on a draft memorandum of understanding with the city about building a parking lot, a turf practice field and a safe crossing at the sports park; the draft MOU will be reviewed by district and city legal teams and later presented to trustees for approval.
Finally, the district previewed a short student video to accompany the rebrand of Bridger Charter Academy. Multiple students gave testimonials describing smaller classes, stronger student‑teacher relationships and greater personal support at Bridger—comments administrators said will be used in communications materials to broaden understanding of the program.
