Council approves consent agenda; town staff deliver routine updates and enter closed session

BRIDGER — The Bridger Town Council approved the consent agenda and heard routine department reports during the Oct. 7 meeting before entering a closed session and adjourning.
Councilwoman Shala Cullum moved and Councilman Doug Asbury seconded approval of the consent agenda, which included minutes from Aug. 5 (public hearing and regular meeting), Sept. 2 (budget hearing) and Sept. 9 (regular meeting); claim checks #35481–#35512 and #35564–#35565; electronic claim checks listed for September; and payroll checks and electronic payroll entries for September. The motion carried with Councilman Carson, Councilwoman Cullum and Councilman Asbury voting aye.
After the consent vote, Town Attorney Ray Kuntz briefed the council on items he is handling. Judge Bert Kraft presented his September reports and summarized legislative updates effective Oct. 1, 2025. Library Director Krystal Zentner said she had nothing to report. Public Works Director Randy Novakovich updated the council on current projects, and Chief Mike Buechler presented police statistics for September. Clerk Kirstin Sweet had no additional items. The meeting proceeded to a closed session pursuant to § 2-3-203(4)(a) MCA, which ran from 7:54 p.m. to 8:14 p.m. The council adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
