Chris Bridal, vice president of operations for Dursey Inc., told the commission the company requested a longer display period because of the construction and fit‑out timeline. "It's about a 15, 16 month build period," Bridal said, adding that the 458‑day request represented the maximum expected time until a certificate of occupancy and building signage would be in place.
Commissioners pressed on maintenance and materials. Bridal said the sign is printed PVC construction signage and Dursey Inc. will be responsible for maintaining it; he added the company’s owner representative will be on site regularly and the general contractor will notify the applicant if repairs are needed. Staff also noted the applicant's narrative commits to maintenance and that code enforcement could require repairs or removal if the sign becomes unsightly.
The motion to grant the variance included standard conditions: ongoing compliance with code, a permit validity date through Oct. 15, 2027 with removal required by Oct. 16, 2027, and a requirement that the temporary ground‑mounted sign be removed when permanent exterior building signage is installed if that occurs before the permit expiration. The motion passed on roll call.
