Council members said the North Elmsford district includes high‑hazard commercial sites, name‑checked by the board, and urged that village officials and fire‑department representatives attend a future work session to discuss capacity and mutual‑aid planning.
A separate West Elmsford contract request of $329,250.73 drew few objections and the board closed that hearing while leaving the record open for seven days to accept comments. The proposed Glenville (Tarrytown) contract was tabled because staff said necessary underlying data had not yet been provided by the village. An agreement with Hastings on Hudson for the Donald Park Fire Protection District was presented with its historical accounting; board members asked for clarification about how villages calculate increases when contracts are based on previous fiscal data.
Board members agreed to invite village and fire officials to a work session before the next meeting to address the North Elmsford concerns and to ensure contract terms and contingency plans for industrial‑scale incidents are clear.
