City announces public meetings and financing options for proposed wastewater treatment facility

Spring Hill staff announced two upcoming public events to brief residents on a proposed wastewater treatment facility and to discuss likely financing. Staff (S15) said the city will hold a public meeting on Feb. 12 to provide an overview of where the project stands and a public hearing Feb. 26 to cover the financial plan and user rate impacts.
The presenter explained the city is applying for low-interest financing through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) and also preparing for a potential WIFIA application with the US Environmental Protection Agency. "This public meeting will give a general overview of where we've been, where we're at now, and where we wanna be in the future," the presenter said, noting the programs' different terms and that additional financial detail will be presented at the hearing.
Staff said residents will have an opportunity at the public hearing to ask about project costs, potential user-rate impacts and timelines. The city plans to provide the financial analysis and a proposed rate and funding structure at the Feb. 26 hearing.
