License Committee recommends temporary beer garden for Cheese Days festival

The License Committee voted to recommend that the common council approve a temporary Class B wine and beer license and an associated beer garden for the Cheese Days festival, scheduled Sept. 17–20.

A staff presenter told the committee the application covered Sept. 17 through Sept. 20 and described the licensed area as a 30-by-60 tent southeast of the courthouse, placed in conjunction with the Cheese Days festival. "This is from September 17 through September 20 would be the temporary class B, for the cheeses festival," the presenter said.

Committee members asked for clarifications about the map and whether nearby pocket parks or stalls were included; staff indicated the layout mirrored past years and reported no prior issues. After questions were resolved, a member moved to approve the license and another member seconded the motion. The clerk called the roll and members voted aye; the committee recommended approval to the common council.

The presenter and committee did not identify additional special conditions; the item will proceed as a recommendation to the council for final action.
