"It couldn't have been done without the food service crew and Meg Reed and her outstanding team," the Superintendent said, praising staff and volunteers who organized drive-through pick-ups and managed high volumes efficiently.
Board members asked whether the program could be expanded next summer; the Superintendent said expansion is possible but would require additional staffing, storage and facility capacity. High-school volunteers and community helpers supported this summer's operation, and the superintendent encouraged board members and the community to stop by on the last day.
The board also recorded several small donations to district programs and specific schools, including multiple $100 memorial gifts and an anonymous $1,000 donation to help high-school seniors.
The board thanked the food-service staff and noted the operational lessons that could inform future efforts and outreach as the district plans communications and community engagement around facilities and other initiatives.
