Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation reports growth in school mental‑health services and senior hot meals

"Our mental health program has grown immensely," Verhus said, adding the foundation is seeking a new executive director following the departure of the prior director.
On senior services, Verhus said the foundation currently serves about 66 seniors, with roughly 80 seniors 80+ served year to date. Deliveries provide six meals weekly through three deliveries (dinner and lunch for Monday, Wednesday and Friday). She said about 400 meals are prepared from scratch each week and the program relies on about 87 volunteers for preparation and delivery.
Verhus thanked the council for support and encouraged councilors or residents with questions to contact the foundation or the prior director for more information. The presentation did not request a specific council action during the meeting.
