Superintendent Josh Patterson updated trustees that the district’s main entrance construction is approximately 95% complete and will include a key-card entry system; other building doors will remain locked with the gym entrance open for events. He reported the library bookshelves have been installed and that the district plans to arrange a presentation to the tribal board about school progress.
Patterson also told the board the district has not yet received Impact Aid payments and that, according to current expectations in the minutes, the funds might not arrive until March. He said district representatives plan to travel to Washington, D.C., in the spring to lobby for Impact Aid funding. The superintendent flagged the upcoming NIISA conference on Dec. 9–10 as an upcoming event for district staff.
The board did not take action on facilities items during the Nov. 12 meeting beyond acknowledging the construction update and planned tribal-board outreach; the planning and lobbying steps were described as administrative follow-up.
