Brockton trustees approve routine minutes and policy forms; hear facility and staffing updates

At its Aug. 12 meeting the Brockton School Board approved the July 16 regular meeting minutes, the July 31 special meeting minutes and the July bills; each motion was made by Trustee Wilfred Lambert, seconded by Trustee Olivia Johnson and carried 4-0.
Superintendent Josh Patterson presented three new policy supplemental forms for third and final reading: 4330F2 (School Gymnasium and Weight Room Community Use Agreement), 3141F (Out-of-District Attendance Agreement) and 3416F3 (Designation/Acceptance to Administer Medication). The board voted 4-0 to approve the forms.
Patterson also provided facilities updates: work on the main entrance (sidewalks, entry ramp, flagpole area) is nearing completion, roof finishing is underway with door and window installation expected soon; library shelving installation is expected in September with furniture arrangement planned within two weeks; and the football field light project awaits Sheridan Electric to finish meter installation, power activation and aiming. Patterson said all open positions have been filled, though the 7th–8th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher and the 7th–12th grade special education teacher will start later in the year.
Trustee Wilfred Lambert moved to adjourn; Olivia Johnson seconded and the meeting adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
