The Spring Hill Planning Commission on Feb. 5 voted unanimously to recommend approval of application FP25‑16, Fox Hollow 2nd Plat, sending the final plat to the governing body with the conditions in the staff report.
Planning staff said the plat covers approximately 19.41 acres at 207th Street and Ridgeview and would create 56 single‑family lots ranging roughly from 48 to 80 feet in width (about 8,017 square feet for the lots described). Ian Treffren, city planner, said utilities will be provided by Johnson County Water 1 for water and by the City of Spring Hill for sewer, and that the plat meets the applicable development standards and the previously approved preliminary plan from August 2023.
Commissioner (speaker 7) moved to recommend approval “including any conditions as presented in the staff report.” Commissioner (speaker 3) seconded. The chair called a roll and the motion passed by unanimous vote (6‑0, per vote tally reported). The transcript records the commission’s roll call and the chair announcing the unanimous recommendation; individual recorded yea/nay votes were not read aloud in the transcript at the point of final tally.
Separately, staff introduced Mike, the city’s new community development director, who described his planning and economic‑development background (planning since 2005; roles in suburbs of Denver, Kansas City and Blue Springs) and said he will attend commission meetings and be available to commissioners as a staff resource.
What happens next: the commission’s recommendation will go to the Spring Hill governing body for final action on the Fox Hollow final plat. Staff indicated they will continue to bring development projects and code updates to both the commission and the governing body as the comprehensive‑plan revision proceeds.
