The Wareham Planning Board on July 13 voted to recommend Jessica Parr (appearing on some materials as Jessica Clark) to the appointing authority to fill the open planning-board seat left by Mike Baptiste.
Parr introduced herself as an attorney who works on real-estate and land-use matters and as a member of the town’s Conservation Commission for roughly four years. "I have lived here in Wareham for going on 9 years," she told the board, and said she is willing to delay the start of planning duties until pending Conservation Commission matters are resolved so as not to create voting shortfalls for ConCom.
The board noted that there are currently few pending planning applications and that Parr’s expected absences while finishing ConCom business would likely not hamper the planning board’s near-term capacity. After members spoke in support, the board voted to send a recommendation to the appointing authority.
Next step: The appointing authority will consider the recommendation and arrange a swearing-in date if it accepts the nomination.
