Valparaiso awards security grant, gets sewer contractor update and approves equipment replacement

Nick Sanders, who presented the maintenance report at the May 12 meeting of the Village of Valparaiso Board of Trustees, said the village received a security grant intended to support GIS training and updates to mapping data.
Sanders also reported repair work on sensors at well 4 and that VRBA is scheduled to return next week to continue the village sewer project. The minutes record concern about park bathroom vandalism and that Alderson is finishing a water certification.
As part of the maintenance discussion, Sanders asked the board to approve replacing an additional tractor tire so the vehicle would have a matched set. Trustee Brightenburg moved to approve the replacement; Chairperson Dan Homes seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The minutes additionally note that Pavers completed recent work and priced it more affordably than previously expected. No dollar amounts were attached to the tractor-tire request in the minutes.
