Mesilla PZHAC unanimously approves two sheds and a subdivision; one approval includes IBC fire-resistance condition

The Town of Mesilla Planning, Zoning and Historical Appropriateness Commission on April 7 approved three agenda items: two permit applications to place sheds and one subdivision application. All motions passed unanimously, recorded as 5–0.
PZHAC CASE #061976 — 2685 Calle de Parian (submitted by Michele K. Devlin): Approved permission to install a pre-manufactured shed in a Historic Residential (H-R) zone. Motion by Commissioner Mulvihill; second by Commissioner Gallegos. Vote: Gallegos — yes; Miller — yes; Walkinshaw — yes; Alba — yes; Mulvihill — yes.
PZHAC CASE #061977 — 1891 Avenida de Mesilla (submitted by Tom Hutchison): Approved construction of a storage shed on commercial property (Zone C) with a condition that the north wall that is within 2 feet of the property line be constructed to be fire-resistant in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC). Motion by Secretary Miller; second by Commissioner Gallegos. Vote: Gallegos — yes; Miller — yes; Walkinshaw — yes; Alba — yes; Mulvihill — yes.
PZHAC SUB #061978 — 2060 Calle de Parian (submitted by Oakley D. Hadfield & Julienne Hadfield DBA Appaloosa Limited LLC): Approved subdivision in Historical Commercial (HC) zone. Staff clarified the application uses an alternate-procedure subdivision process; if a variance is needed the applicant may request it from PZHAC rather than the Board of Adjustments. Motion by Secretary Miller; second by Commissioner Gallegos. Vote: Gallegos — yes; Miller — yes; Walkinshaw — yes; Alba — yes; Mulvihill — yes.
No appeals, fees, or conditions beyond the IBC-referenced wall requirement were recorded at the meeting.
