Village of Valparaiso trustees approve armour coating contracts, note lower paving costs

The Village of Valparaiso Board of Trustees voted May 12 to approve contract bids with StaBilt and Weedman Trucking for armour coating work on village streets.
At the meeting, maintenance lead Nick Sanders presented the armour coating bids and outlined the process of crack sealing, setup and overlay. Chairperson Dan Homes moved to approve the contracts; Trustee Brightenburg seconded and trustees voted unanimously to accept the bids.
Trustees also noted recent paving work performed by a contractor listed as Pavers; the minutes state Pavers priced that work more affordably than earlier estimates. The finance listing for the month includes a $57,098.80 entry to Pavers for asphalt work.
The board recorded that Main Street flowers will be paid for by the Val Days committee. No further debate on the contracts was recorded; the contracts were approved as presented.
