Regents approve leases and multiple campus renovation projects, voting unanimously on consent and action items

Dan Stevenson, MUS director of facilities planning, presented a request to lease space in the Molecular BioSciences Building at MSU Bozeman to the U.S. Geological Survey; Regent Loren Bough moved approval of ITEM 217-2009-R0325, and the motion passed 6–0. Stevenson also presented an action request to perform major maintenance repairs at Paisley Court student apartments (a family/graduate housing complex of 90 apartments constructed in 1985) to replace siding, windows and related exterior systems; Regent Joyce Dombrouski moved approval of ITEM 217-2007-R0325, and the motion passed 6–0.
The board authorized renovation of five large classrooms in Roberts, Herrick, Cobleigh, Leon Johnson and Linfield Halls to update technology and reconfigure spaces for instructional effectiveness (ITEM 217-2006-R0325); Regent Jeff Southworth moved approval and the motion passed 6–0. The board also approved Phase 1 of a remodel for Jesse Hall at UM Missoula to address common-area improvements and life-safety and accessibility upgrades, with future phases to address student bedrooms and bathrooms as contractor schedules allow (ITEM 217-1011-R0325); Regent Dombrouski moved approval and the motion passed 6–0.
Each motion was approved unanimously by the six voting regents present. No substantive amendments or conditions were recorded at the meeting. The board did not schedule additional debate on these items and moved forward with the recommended authorizations.
