The Town of Coats Board of Commissioners convened a special called meeting on March 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room at Coats Town Hall. Mayor Chris Coats called the meeting to order and confirmed a quorum consisting of Mayor Pro Tem Marc Powell and Commissioners Kelvin Gilbert, Shirley Allen and Monique Warren-Clegg; Commissioner Jerry Beasley was absent.
During the meeting Commissioner Shirley Allen moved that the board enter a closed session pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-318.11(6); Commissioner Kelvin Gilbert seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously. The board recorded entering closed session at 7:03 p.m.
The minutes do not disclose the subject matter discussed in closed session. The record shows the board reconvened in open session at 10:30 p.m. after a motion to reconvene made by Commissioner Kelvin Gilbert and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Marc Powell, which passed unanimously.
