Co-chair Marie Polena said the Parks and Recreation Committee will hold a Park Celebration at 6:00 p.m. on May 23 and asked that all committee members attend to “mix and mingle” with residents and partners.
The event will include light refreshments and special invitations were issued to Sutrich Landscaping and Doris Heitzmann of UF Extension Services. Committee member Bonnie Utz committed to providing a suggestion box at the celebration to gather residents’ ideas about future park activities. The committee agreed the town will publicize the event on the municipal website, the electronic sign and bulletin boards.
Committee members also raised a practical detail: town materials still list the site as DelBello Park while the committee refers to it as Nature Park. Members recommended that public notices and signage reference both DelBello Park and Nature Park to avoid confusing residents.
The committee did not record a formal vote on event logistics; members will finalize arrangements at upcoming meetings. The committee set its next regular meeting for June 12 at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
