Redington Shores approves permit-fee ordinance, renews permit‑technician contract and advances curfew change

Attorney Rob Eschenfelder read ORD 2025-01, which amends the town code regarding permit fees. Commissioner Larry Maynard moved to adopt the ordinance on its second reading and Vice Mayor Erin Schoos seconded; the board approved the ordinance unanimously. The board also voted to extend the Tidal Basin contract providing permit‑technician services for a 90‑day period. Res. 02-2025, updating the town's authorized signers at Valley Bank, was approved by motion of Vice Mayor Schoos and seconded by Commissioner Maynard. The motion passed unanimously.
On curfew policy, Attorney Eschenfelder read ORD 2025-02 amending the town curfew regulation; Interim Administrator Margaret Carey described recent incidents of unsupervised juveniles causing damage to parks during Beach Week and noted neighboring towns use earlier curfew hours. Captain Lee Ann Holroyd of Indian Shores Police Department supported consistent policing across jurisdictions. Vice Mayor Schoos moved and Commissioner Harr seconded to advance ORD 2025-02 on first reading; the motion passed.
