Holly Hill — The commission unanimously approved Resolution 2026‑R‑19, authorizing change order #1 with Paul Culver Construction to repair an additional damaged section of the Riverside Park pier at a cost staff said is $19,008.
Staff explained that the commission previously approved an owner‑direct purchase with Gator Dock and awarded a contract to Paul Culver Construction for the initial removal and replacement. During work crews found additional damage immediately west of the original project area — including multiple damaged headers and support channels causing unsecured decking and misalignment. DMC, the engineer of record, inspected the additional damage, produced repair drawings, and approved the proposed change order.
The scope includes fabrication of 18 headers, replacement of one C‑channel support and welding repairs to small cracks. Staff noted the city’s purchasing policy requires commission approval for change orders exceeding 10% of the original award and reported the remaining project balance and ledger account available for the work. The commission had no further questions and approved the change order unanimously.
