The Hilliard Town Council voted March 19 to approve a property-use agreement between the Town of Hilliard and Mr. Freddie Geiger that allows Mr. Geiger to enter property he formerly owned to remove personal belongings once he has been notified in writing that electrical power to the property has been removed.
Town Clerk Lisa Purvis presented the item and explained the terms as written in the agreement. Council Pro Tem Lee Pickett moved to approve the agreement; Councilman Dallis Hunter seconded and the vote recorded five yeas in favor.
Council members did not discuss the financial terms of the arrangement at length during the public meeting. The approval allows a limited and documented entry process for the former owner to recover personal property and directs staff to follow the written-notice procedure set out in the agreement.
