Dr. Jordan opened the superintendent's report and highlighted summer programs the district hosted, thanked teachers and staff, and recognized student participation in several activities.
He announced registration is open online and listed in‑person registration dates (Aug. 10–11) and school‑specific schedules. He emphasized families should schedule back‑to‑school physicals and immunizations and listed sports‑physical dates for Southeast High (July 29), Springfield High (Aug. 3) and Lanford High (Aug. 8). Dr. Jordan said students cannot play high school sports without the required sports physicals.
Dr. Jordan promoted a district back‑to‑school community event on July 30 at Shield Sports Park from 4:30–7 p.m., noting about 90 exhibitors, interactive activities, food and roughly 3,000 backpacks available for families. He encouraged volunteers and attendance.
On facilities, Dr. Jordan said demolition of the former Marsh Elementary building is underway and that the site will be transformed into a modern outdoor learning and recreation space with a new playground. He also noted new flooring installed at Graham Elementary.
He recognized Springfield Southeast High School student Thean Beatty, who will spend a year in the Philippines with the Central States Rotary Youth Exchange program — the first Southeast student to do so. The superintendent closed by thanking staff and community partners for supporting summer programs.
No formal board action was required on these announcements.
