West Bend council meeting roundup: firefighter oaths, Lakewood Farms plat and reports

At its July 20 meeting the council swore in two firefighter/EMTs, approved the Lakewood Farms Phase 2 final plat (34 lots), and received plan commission and staff reports including a parks event update; several routine motions passed by voice vote.
The West Bend common council opened July 20 with the licensing board actions and then conducted a regular council meeting that included two oaths of office, routine land-use approvals and departmental reports.
Assistant Chief Forrester introduced new hires Nicholas Lopez and Mitchell Hartman and administered their oaths; council welcomed the appointees and noted their training and backgrounds. The council also approved the Lakewood Farms Phase 2 final plat, which will add 34 lots on 18th Avenue.
The plan commission reported on public hearings and zoning items scheduled for August, including a land-use change at the southeast corner of South Main and Russ Roscoe and a proposed multifamily zoning amendment on the Woodmere property. Staff highlighted the Dirty Ninja Mud Run at Regner Park, noting more than 2,200 kid participants and thanking parks, rec staff and volunteers.
Several consent and routine items were approved by voice vote and the council adjourned.
