Chad Cheek, a representative of Electric Forest, told the Rothbury Village Council on June 17 at Village Hall that the festival’s local economic impact was "approximately $34 million" and that organizers received no sound complaints in 2024. He thanked the council for last year’s approval of a 10-year permit, which he said helped "build the foundation for the future of Electric Forest for the next decade."
Cheek said the festival has discontinued late-night "afters" for this year and is expanding a silent disco as part of efforts to reduce noise in the community. "No sound complaints were received in 2024," he said, adding that changes this year should further lessen noise impacts.
The presentation was informational; council took no formal action on the festival presentation during the meeting. Council members acknowledged the report and moved on to other agenda items including finance and public-works business.
