The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) at its Aug. 27 meeting and began the process to fill the unexpired term by appointment.
District Manager Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and noted he represented The Meadows for eight years. Because the vacancy is an appointment rather than an election, the board directed District staff to notify residents in the affected area. The board consensus was to have Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners association manager e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and to request resumes or letters of interest for consideration at the next meeting.
On a motion by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Assistant Secretary Robert Twombly, the board unanimously accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation from Seat 1 (term through November 2026). The board deferred formal appointment activity to the next meeting, when staff will provide candidate materials for review.
