River Ridge CDD adopts FY2025 budget and imposes special assessments

The River Ridge Community Development District Board unanimously adopted the fiscal year 2024/2025 budget and approved a special-assessment roll during its Aug. 27 meeting.

District Manager Chuck Adams told the board the budget posted in the agenda was not correct and staff made scrivener corrections, including clarifying the "Street sweeping" description. After a public hearing at which no property owners spoke, the board adopted Resolution 2024-07, relating to annual appropriations and the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024. Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal made the motion to adopt the budget as amended; Assistant Secretary Robert Twombly seconded it, and the motion carried with all present voting in favor.

The board also opened a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08, which determines benefit and imposes the special assessments for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. District counsel Tony Pires recommended opening the hearing; no members of the public spoke. The board voted to delete all references to "Exhibit B" throughout the resolution and then adopted Resolution 2024-08 as amended. The motion was made by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Assistant Secretary Robert Twombly; the vote was unanimous among attending supervisors.

The board’s votes were recorded as unanimous among the four supervisors present (Chair Bob Schultz participated by telephone). Supervisor James Gilman was not present. The adopted budget and assessment roll will guide District revenues and spending for the coming fiscal year and permit the collection and enforcement of the certified assessments.

Copies of the adopted resolutions and the amended budget will be included in the district record and posted per statutory requirements.
